The recent social media postings from Walking Dead actor Justin Kucsulain seem to indicate one of two things. Either he is already in talks to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a particular character, or he's just a big fan.

The character in question is the heroic powerhouse known as The Sentry, and Kucsulain clearly wants to be considered for the role. On Instagram, the actor first posted a shot of him at Emerald City Comics, apparently doing some research on the hero, and captioned it "⚡•️Gathered some amazing reading material today. 😉 •⚡️•"

Not too long after he posted another Sentry image with the caption "••••••••••••••••(((((⚡️)))))•••••••••••••• Check it out. Comment. Share. Rock on 🤘"

Other actors have taken to stopping by local comic stores to grab research material, such as Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), but those were heavily rumoured or already casted parts. The Sentry does come a bit out of nowhere, especially when you consider that The Vision sort of occupies a Sentry-like presence amongst the Avengers team in the films, at least in regards to how he is viewed as a powerful unknown.

If there is some truth to all this, The Sentry could be used in a myriad of ways. The character has a really unique origin, and after being dormant for years was brought back to prominence by Brian Michael Bendis in The New Avengers. He's basically Marvel's Superman, but at times even more powerful, and seemingly immortal. Oh, and he has a split psyche that houses an as powerful evil entity known as The Void, so you know, catch 22 and all that.

Where the character would be used or as part of what phase is anyone's guess, but either way it's an interesting discussion.

On The Walking Dead, Kucsulain played a one episode role as a member of the Hilltop. His character marched back home and tried to kill Gregory and Rick on behalf of Negan in an effort to save his hostage brother. It didn't go so well. Rick stabbed him in the neck.
