Happy Birthday! Michael Douglas Turns 72 Years Old Today

Happy birthday, Michael! The actor turns 72 today.

Michael was raised in New Jersey to actors Kirk Douglas and Diana Dill. The actor is the couple's oldest child and grew up surrounded by entertainment insiders and actors. He found himself drawn to theater and pursued acting in university as he majored in Drama.

His early career saw him star the CBS special The Experiment before his film career kicked off with Hail, Hero! and Summertree. One of his first significant roles came with The Streets of San Francisco where he co-starred with Karl Malden. Then, in 1975, Douglas produced One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and earned him an Academy Award.

Of course, Michael's filmography is an extensive one. The actor starred in Romancing the Stone, The Jewel of the Nile, A Chorus Line, and Fatal Attraction. He received international praise for his work on Wall Street and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

Most recently, fans have seen Michael return to screen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor played Hank Pym in Ant-Man as an older version of the iconic Marvel hero.
