It's got to be a rather joyous occasion to see your artwork enjoyed by the masses, but it's probably another thing entirely to see the living embodiment of that character bring it to life.

Mitch Gerads is a talented artist who's previous work includes Batman, The Sheriff of Babylon, and his Punisher series with Nathan Edmondson. Gerads sketched Frank Castle sitting in a chair after a long day of, well, inflicting pain on people with his skull embossed vest on the floor. He's sipping a cup of coffee with an "I'm not Daredevil" shirt on the cover of one of the issues, so Gerads understandably freaked out a bit when Punisher actor Jon Bernthal posted a picture to his Twitter account rocking that same shirt.

"THIS. IS. WILD. @jonnybernthal rockin' my style!

*Should be noted, the original shirt is by @PaoloMRivera + @MarkWaid from DD."

That look was inspired by Paolo Rivera's piece from 2014, where Matt Murdock is wearing a turtleneck with those works on it holding a candy cane, and it appeared during Mark Waid and Chris Samnee's celebrated run on the Daredevil series.

As for The Punisher, well, no one would exactly confuse Castle for Daredevil, but it's nice of him to spell it out for everyone. The last thing you want to do is tick him off, especially when he's near fitness equipment. It's also unlikely we'll see Bernthal wearing it on his upcoming solo series or even in the Defenders, but you never know, maybe it will make a small cameo.

It's not yet known whether Bernthal will reprise his role as Castle on the upcoming team-up series The Defenders, but it's hard to believe he won't at least make a cameo. He will also likely have some involvement with season 3 of Daredevil whenever that actually happens, but a character he got to know in season 2 will be making an appearance on The Punisher solo series. Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) has been seen on the Punisher set, which has already been filming.

Luke Cage just released in September and will be followed by Iron Fist, which will then lead into the Defenders. Somewhere in that mix is also the Punisher series, the second season of Jessica Jones, and the third season of Daredevil, but those have yet to be dated.
