Over the course of the next year and a half, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will introduce four new movies and upwards of six seasons of new television properties. We'll see the first MCU-based solo movies for two fan-favorite characters in Spider-Man and Black Panther. Needless to say — Marvel has plenty of great things coming in the next year or — but even those movies pale in comparison to what the powerhouse studio is putting together for Avengers: Infinity War.

Not only are the vast majority of characters we've seen in Marvel Studios movies slated to appear in Infinity War and it's yet-to-be-named Avengers 4 sequel, but it seems as if a good chunk of the crew members will have their respective part to the movie. While brothers Joe and Anthony Russo are tabbed as the directors for the next two Avengers flicks, Guardians of the Galaxy mastermind James Gunn will help make sure the movies are in tip-top shape. And now, one of the newest directors to join the MCU will be helping out.

Jon Watts, director of Spider-Man: Homecoming, has told Fandango that he'll be involved in the production of the movie in some shape, way, or form.

"Yeah, everyone is aware of what's happening on all the other movies. So if one thing shifts, you make sure it doesn't have dramatic repercussions for your movie," Watts reflected. "But yeah, that's all on the Russos right now."

In Spider-Man: Homecoming, a young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

The cast includes Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. It also includes Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Michael Mando, Selenis Leyva, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah, and Hannibal Buress.

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters July 7, 2017. It currently holds an impressive 4.07/5 in our user anticipation ratings. Let us know how excited you are to see the film by giving Spider-Man: Homecoming your own anticipation rating below.
