Iron Fist may have made its entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe over two weeks ago, but the controversies surrounding the show still continue to haunt those affiliated with the production.

Most recently, the cast and crew were on hand in Singapore to promote the show, but at a scheduled media stop on the press tour, a peculiar rule was crafted that prohibited the media from asking any questions to the cast members in attendance โ Finn Jones, Jessica Stroup, and Tom Pelphrey.
Since the media was unable to ask any questions, two emcees hosting the event offered questions that made sure to stay clear of the negative connotations surrounding the show.
“From what I’m experiencing, people have been loving the show,” Jones reflected. “From the people that I see on the street, there’s been a hugely, overwhelmingly positive response from the fans and I’m very grateful for that.”
Although quite panned by quite a few media outlets, Iron Fist remains at a solid 3.9/5 rating on our ComicBook Composite Score list and is the most binge-watch Netflix drama of the year.
While the show did drift away from the mystical portions of the traditional Iron Fist source material โ a move made by showrunner Scott Buck to keep the show more “grounded” โ that didn’t stop Jones from reading all he could when it came to Danny Rand.
“I love the comics, they’re really beautifully written. I like the fantasy and mystical elements and they go there a lot more,” said Jones. “I’ve got a huge stack of them at the end of my bed and every now and again when I go to sleep I would just grab one.”

In Marvel’s Iron Fist, fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.
Based on the Marvel Comics character created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, Marvel’s Iron Fist is developed by Scott Buck, who serves as the series showrunner. Iron Fist stars Finn Jones as Danny Rand, the Iron Fist, as well as Jessica Henwick, David Wenham, Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey, and Rosario Dawson.
The series is the fourth Marvel Television show on Netflix, following Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, and Marvel’s Luke Cage. Marvel’s Iron Fist will lead into Marvel’s The Defenders crossover miniseries, which will debut on Netflix later this year. The series sees Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist teaming up, along with several allies from each series, to take on a threat to New York City no one of them could handle on their own.
