Agents of SHIELD made a return last night with a new story arc, which saw the team lost in the artificial, Matrix-like world of framework, in a reality where Hydra rules the world. That false reality proved to be an intriguing place, with intriguing new roles for each the Agents of SHIELD to play. Some of them, like Coulson, had become civilians, while many others (Fitz, May, Skye) had turned to the dark side.
sAs you can in the preview for the next chapter in the HYDRA arc, "Identity and Change", the picture is about to get a lot bigger (and more surprising), as we get to know more of the world within The Framework, and the familiar characters who populate it.
After finding out that Grant Ward is the mole in HYDRA (secretly working on the side of The Resistance), it seems that he reports to none other than Jeffrey Mace, who leads the remnants of SHIELD against HYDRA. Meanwhile, Fitz continues to creep us out by slobbering over Aida - while Macks role in all this seems unclear. We know he loves his daughter, but that's about it.
SYNOPSIS: As Daisy and Simmons struggle to discover an escape route to the real world, the identity of the Inhuman leader of the Resistance is revealed.
