Renewal Chances For Agents Of SHIELD, Gotham, And More
If you're a fan of the comic and superhero genre, you've had plenty of amazing content to sink [...]
iZombie
While the other DC shows have all been renewed, there is one still on the outs at the moment. CW's iZombie typically serves as a midseason show, taking over while the Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Arrow go on sabbaticals.
The ratings for iZombie haven't been stellar, but they also haven't been bad. It's a constant for CW and is well reviewed by fans. It is likely to be renewed by the network, at least as of now. The synopsis for the latest episode can be found below.
NAMASTE — To help Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) solve the murder of a lifestyle guru, Liv (Rose McIver) consumes his brain and takes on his zen approach to life. Ravi's (Rahul Kohli) old boss, Katty Kupps (guest star Christina Cox, "Arrow"), is getting closer to discovering the truth while also getting closer to Ravi. Meanwhile, Blaine (David Anders) and Peyton (Aly Michalka) continue their budding friendship, much to Ravi's (Rahul Kohli) dismay. Lastly, Major (Robert Buckley) is struggling a bit at his new job.
Mairzee Almas directed the episode written by Graham Norris.
iZombie airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
prevnextGotham
Fox's Gotham is another steady presence on the network. It doesn't overperform like Legion but gives enough reward to put it higher on the list than other Fox shows. There are enough other shows on Fox's bubble that Gotham should get renewed. The show seemed to hit its stride content wise this year, and hopefully, that continues into its fourth season.
You can find the synopsis for the spring premiere below.
Nygma convinces himself that he doesn't need Penguin to succeed and begins to introduce himself to Gotham as "The Riddler." Bullock and Lucius Fox get caught up in Nygma's mind games, while Gordon learns troubling news about his father's death. Meanwhile, the Court of the Owls reveals its next move.
The spring premiere of Gotham, which is titled "Heroes Rise: How the Riddler Got His Name," will air Monday, April 24 at 8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT on FOX.
prevnextAgents Of SHIELD
Agents of SHIELD seems to be on the list of possible cancellations every year, but fan reactions to the actual episodes improved a lot this season. Unfortunately, it keeps popping up on the bubble, and pulling their well received Ghost Rider storyline midseason didn't help either.
Still, the indications seem to be that the show will get at least one more season, but that might end up being its last.
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns with a vengeance for the fourth exciting season in an all new time period, Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. ET. In the aftermath of their journey to another planet, Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the rest of the team were driven more than ever to put an end to the Hydra organization. Little did they know that they were up against the deadliest threat they've ever faced – an extremely powerful Inhuman, Hive, who was transported back from Maveth in the body of their worst enemy, Grant Ward. The team was able to thwart and kill Hive and take down Hydra, but they are all still mourning the death of fellow agent and Inhuman, Lincoln Campbell.
Marvel's Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
prevnextPowerless
While the switch in premises opened up more storyline opportunities, it somewhat stunted the momentum that Powerless built up before it aired. Now that fans have seen what the show is, mixed to lethargic reactions seem to be the result.
If a DC show is going to kick the bucket, it's going to be Powerless, which is a shame since the original premise had such potential.
In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don't need superpowers to be a hero.
