Legendary comic book writer and artist Frank Miller is considered the most influential creator to work on Marvel Comics' Daredevil, with Marvel Studios and Netflix's TV-MA Daredevil television series drawing heavily from Miller's dark, seminal four-year run. Many fans have seen and praised the series, which will soon enter its third season — but Miller has yet to watch the show.

"Not really, no. I haven't had a chance yet," Miller told Vulture when asked if he's watched the premiere Marvel and Netflix series. "I'm looking forward to it."

Miller, whose live-action comic book adaptation works include scripting and co-directing Sin City and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, previously criticized the Netflix series for its depiction of assassin, mercenary, and Daredevil love interest Elektra, whom Miller created in 1981.

"They can call it whatever you want, but it will not be the real Elektra," Miller said in 2015, following the October debut of the Daredevil season two trailer. "Yes, I'm her father." Elektra was later introduced in Daredevil's sophomore season in March 2016, portrayed by actress Elodie Yung.

Elektra

Miller killed the character off in 1982, having her murdered at the hands of Bullseye, one of Daredevil's most vicious enemies. The character's eventual resurrection in 1994 upset Miller, who claimed Marvel had agreed not to use Elektra in future publications.

Miller previously made a cameo appearance in 20th Century Fox's 2003 movie Daredevil, starring Ben Affleck as Matt Murdock / Daredevil and Jennifer Garner as Elektra. (Why Miller seemingly accepted the PG-13 Garner Elektra over the more comic book accurate Yung Elektra as seen in the bloody and moody Daredevil is anyone's guess.)

Daredevil (Charlie Cox) will next be seen in Marvel and Netflix's The Defenders, premiering exclusively on the streaming service August 18th. The man without fear will team-up with fellow urban vigilantes Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) to stop a villainous sect from destroying New York City as we know it.
