Deadpool 2 gave fans an official first look at Josh Brolin’s Cable earlier this year, but the actor is not one to shed the role off-set. Thanks to a new photo, fans can see that Brolin is #CableSwole wherever he goes.
Over on Instagram, Cable creator Rob Liefeld shared a fun picture of Brolin with fans. The photo, which was taken by Kathryn Brolin, shows the actor under an electric pole with his muscles flexing. After all, the pole does have a sign that says “CABLE” on it, so Brolin had little choice but to take picture.
“This is an incredible pic that I had to display,” Liefeld captioned the image. “Might have to incorporate this into a future cover.”
The photo is a well-timed one, but it also serves to show how ripped Brolin is these days. The actor did intense training for Deadpool 2, and his toned arms show how much iron he has been pumping.
In the past months, Brolin has used social media of his own to document his workouts. The actor posted a photo of himself nude with the hashtag ‘Cable Swole’ back in July. The image was meant to promote the Prevail Activewear line, but Brolin was wearing nothing in the advert. The sight would make any fan blush, but Deadpool would have no problem fawning over Brolin’s sturdy physique.
Fans have been supportive of Brolin since the actor first nabbed his Cable role, but his dedication to the character on social media has put more supporters in his corner. Liefeld told ComicBook that he’s even surprised by the actor’s transformation for the role.
"The way we've watched his transformation--I mean, I immediately started following his trainer," Liefeld joked. "Eventually, when I get the guts up, I'm gonna ask, 'I'd like to have that training regimen please.'"
