Deadpool takes on Sin Tzu's The Art of War in a new miniseries from writer Peter David and artist Scott Koblish, Marvel Comics announced today.

Following on the heels of the ever-escalating series of miniseries and one-shots that insert Deadpool into books, comics and film where he has no earthly reason to be (other than it's hilarious), Deadpool's Art of War sees the Merc With a Mouth moving in on Sin Tzu's territory.

Sun Tzu's Art of War has been called the definitive work on military strategy and tactics and has influenced leaders in both warfare and business for hundreds of years...which means it's totally in the public domain and ripe for being ripped off by Deadpool! And what's Deadpool's plan to ensure his version of Art of War outsells the original? Make sure the entire world is at war when it comes out!

The miniseries marks the first time that Peter David -- a veteran, best-selling comics writer with a strong through-line of humor that runs through much of his work -- has ever tackled a Deadpool series.

"[He's] a combination of Ambush Bug and Wolverine," David tells Comic Vine of his approach to the character. "He certainly knows he's in a comic but doesn't let that affect how he goes about his business."

Deadpool: The Art of War #1 goes on sale in October.
