Five Superhero Team-Ups We Would Like To See On The Big Screen

Jackman Avengers

With Batman and Superman finally coming to the big screen together and Hugh Jackman saying that he could see a world where Wolverine and Iron Man share a film, it got us to thinking:

What characters are you really, really excited to see together on the screen?

Or, at least, which would you like to see, since obviously many of the best Marvel combinations are presently not available or likely?

We've compiled a short list of some of our favorite fantasy-castings, although we're staying clear of some obvious ones like Luke Cage and Iron Fist or Green Lantern and The Flash, because if we already know for a fact that it's coming, it seems like the space could be better utilized.

Green Lantern and Green Arrow

This one has everything. A street-level hero and a cosmic level hero like Batman and Superman, but with the kind of social/political/personal clash of ideals and personalities that feels very Marvel-inspired.

All that squabbling before the team finally came together in The Avengers? Yeah, these guys would make that look like a lovely tea party.

...And who wouldn't want to see "My ward speedy is a junkie" on the big screen?

Wolverine and The Hulk

Even leaving aside the fact that Lost's Damon Lindelof wrote a best-selling Ultimate Comics series based on the pair, they were featured in a direct-to-DVD movie and, of course, Wolverine's first appearance came in an issue of The Incredible Hulk.

So, yeah, you might say they're pretty closely associated.

Iron Man and Star Lord

This one is bound to happen sooner or later, but since it's still unofficial we're leaving it on the list. It's always interesting to see how Robert Downey, Jr.'s Iron Man deals with new people and new challenges, so coming up against somebody who's as snarky and devil-may-care as he is will likely e an exasperating experience for him -- and thus a ton of fun for the viewing audience.

Daredevil and The Punisher

Again, this one is kind of a no-brainer. While The Punisher technically appeared for the first time in a Spider-Man comic, and certainly that's a pairing I wouldn't mind, either, Daredevil and Punisher have a long, antagonistic relationship and their similarities are great enough that it makes their differences really interesting.

And, really, I want to see that scene where Punisher tricks Daredevil into trying to shoot him in live action.

Batman and Suicide Squad

Even before the New 52, when Harley Quinn took center stage, Batman and the Suicide Squad often traveled in a lot of the same circles. While he doesn't have the same kind of hardcore association with them that many characters have with Batman, it's certainly true that seeing Bruce Wayne and Amanda Waller butt heads could be fun -- especially in the current DC movieverse, where The Joker is a key part of the Suicide Squad movie.
