Thanos Infinity War

While Infinity War Part 1 & 2 don't have official titles yet, let alone a completed script for either part, it does have a basic story already. The story is one they've been building to steadily in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and with it in the hands of the writers and directors behind Captain America: Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, they obviously knew the general direction to which they were going.

While on a press tour for the home release of Hail, Caesar!, actor Josh Brolin, who plays the menacing galaxies-threatening villain in the MCU, told Digital Spy that while he hasn't seen any script pages, he has already discussed the story with the Russos, and he likes what he's seen.

"I literally can't say one word about it, but it's an incredible story. There's no script yet, but I do know the story inside and out and it's an amazing story," Brolin said. "I sat at a table and listened to the story and was completely and utterly blown away. I was told it by all the people involved - it was a large table, I'll put it that way!"

Most likely the people at that table included directors Anthony and Joe Russo, writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, and possibly some of the other executive producers like Victoria Alonso and Louis D'Esposito.

As far as what it is he's heard? Well, Thanos took up the Infinity Gauntlet, and uttered "Fine. I'll do it myself" in his last appearance. He's now embarking on a quest to collect all of the Infinity Stones, and use them for his ultimate goal; what that is in the MCU is still up in the air, but in the pages of Marvel Comics, it typically has something to do with ending all life in the Universe to make his one true love, Death, happy.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 (not final title), is scheduled for May 4, 2018 release.
