Sony and Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Homecoming is slated to hit theatres on July 7th, 2017, but it isn't the only Spider-Man film project in the works.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Son of Zorn, Han Solo) are hard at work on a new animated film, which is rumored to feature former Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales. If it does, it would certainly fit what the directors are aiming for with their new project, which is something altogether different than other Spider-Man films. Lord and Miller shared some quick thoughts with IGN.

"It is not going to feel like every other Spider-Man movie you've seen," Miller promised. "It will stand on its own as a unique filmgoing experience." Lord added, "It's wonderful and the people that are working on it are geniuses. It is unique. ... People will love it."

In a separate interview, Miller reiterated that the film will be different than others that have come before it.

"It is not just another Peter Parker origin story that you've seen 400 times," said Miller. "It is something totally unique and different and not like anything you've seen. That's all I can say… and you're going to love it!"

The duo's Han Solo film is currently set for a May 25th, 2018 release, and the animated Spider-Man project is set to debut on July 20th of that same year. Lord and Miller also penned the story for the upcoming Flash film and are planning a sequel to The Lego Movie.
