Out of all the iconic cars in film history there are probably none that match the recognition of the caped crusader's four wheeled mode of transportation - The Batmobile. The first appearance of The Batmobile was in Detective Comics #27, it originally looked like an ordinary car but it was heavily armored. The actual name was not applied to the care until issue #48 though.

Since then we've seen multiple incarnations of the car, from the campy Batman '66 show's 1955 Lincoln Futura to Christopher Nolan's military looking Tumbler. With a new Batman we need a new Batmobile - so Warner Brothers has been showcasing Ben Affleck's new ride all around San Diego.

Comicbook.com's Russ Burlingame caught up with the new machine to get these shots.

Along with the real thing - DC is showcasing a version of the car that you can actually buy. If you've got $250 of course. The Batmobile, made by Mattel is already on backorder until November 10th, according to their website. You can see more photos at Mattel.com.
