Halloween is the time of year when people get creative and dress up, often as favorite movie characters or superheroes, but actor Bruce Willis took creativity to a whole new level with his costume this year.

Pairing up with his assistant Stephen J. Eads, Willis got all dressed up --literally -- in matching blue dresses, knee socks, Mary Janes, and blue flowers in their hair to be the twins from Stanley Kubrick's horror masterpiece The Shining. You can check out a photo of the pair shared by Willis' wife, Emma Heming Willis, on Instagram below.

"These two not only get the best costume award (because it's INSANE) but the BFF award too #thshining #bestfriendgoals #winninghalloween @stevoeads #brucewillis" Heming Willis captioned the eerie photo of the pair holding hands before the party.

Willis and Eads donned the disturbing costumes for director M. Night Shyamalan's Shyamaween party held in Philadelphia Saturday night. The event is an annual charity function raising money for the director's anti-poverty foundation. And despite the costumes being all in fun for a good cause, the actor's take on twins are almost more terrifying than the ghostly visions in the 1980 film that invited The Shining's young protagonist to play with them "forever."

Though, if you think about it, a costume that's scarier than its inspiration means the costume was definitely a success.
