Funko and Hot Topic launched a Disney Treasures box earlier this month that's loaded with goodies from the The Lion King animated classic (which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year) - but this Scar With Flames Deluxe Pop figure is definitely the star of the show. Note that the version pictured above is a red Chase that will be packaged and shipped randomly to lucky buyers. If you're feeling lucky, now would be a good time to grab one because you can order The Lion King Disney Treasures Funko box right here for only $23.03 during a 30% off flash sale that ends at midnight tonight, June 25th - 26th (additional Pop figures with the discount are scattered throughout Hot Topic's Funko collection).
Even if you don't score the red Scar with Flames variant, the standard version pictured above will be a fantastic addition to your collection. In addition to the Pop figure, the box also includes a Zazu in a rib cage Mystery Mini, an Ed Pocket Pop key chain and a luau Timon figure that wobbles as he does the hula. Basically, this Disney Treasures box is a no-brainer with the discount.
On a related note, Hasbro is marking The Lion King anniversary with a brand new Monopoly game. As you will see, they really pulled out all the stops with this edition. Features include six golden tokens (Timon, Simba, Nala, Mufassa, Pumbaa, and Scar) and a Pride Rock that holds the Destiny cards (replaces Chance and Community Chest cards) and plays music from the film.
The Lion King edition of Monopoly is available right here at Walmart for $39.99 with free 2-day shipping, or here at Amazon with free fast shipping for Prime members. The official feature list and description is available below.

Don't forget that a "live-action" version of The Lion King is hitting theaters on July 19th. Just like in Jungle Book, Favreau has surrounded himself with an all-star voice cast for The Lion King. Donald Glover will voice lead character Simba, with music icon Beyonce Knowles starring opposite him as Nala. Seth Rogen also joins the cast portraying Pumbaa, along with Billy Eichner as Timon, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, John Oliver as Zazu, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, and John Kani as Rafiki. James Earl Jones will once again voice Mufasa, reprising his role from the original 1994 film.0comments
The official synopsis for The Lion King reads:
"Disney’s The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book), journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his."
