Following in the footsteps, or paw prints as it were, of the real-life version of Garfield, a big-screen adaptation of trouble-making pooch Marmaduke is on it's way, with Owen Wilson in the lead role as the cumbersome Great Dane. While the news about the movie may not be new, Wilson's involvement is the last piece of the casting puzzle. Based on Brad Anderson's long-running newspaper comic strip, the adventures of the pooch will be spelled out by License to Wed writers Tim Rasmussen and Vince Di Meglio. According to splashpage.com, Wilson joins a star-packed cast that includes William H. Macy, Fergie, George Lopez, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Damon and Marlon Wayans. Whether or not Marmaduke will match the surprising success of the Garfield film remains to be seen, but Wilson has proven to be a mostly bankable star with his work in Marley and Me and Night at the Museum. Although he could end up in the dog house if it tanks!
