Whether or not you actually dislike the Star Wars prequels, there is a general consensus that the three films created between 1999 and 2005 failed to become a part of the cinematic cultural landscape the way the original trilogy did.

As such, even those who work for Lucasfilm often find themselves saying unfavorable things about the prequels -- or at least making comparisons, and having the prequels come out on the short end.

That's just what Adam Driver -- who appears in this month's Star Wars: The Force Awakens as Kylo Ren -- did recently when speaking to a group of soldiers, saying that he's pretty confident the new film is better than the last three live-action feature films to come out of the franchise.

After telling one man that he can't say anything about his upcoming role, he was pressed as to whether that film would be "better than the prequels."

"Oh, yeah," Driver said, covering the camera with one hand. "F--k yeah."

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan & Abrams, features a cast including actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. They will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18, 2015, kicking off a new trilogy of Saga films as Episodes VIII and IX are already scheduled.
