Adrien Brody Interested In The Joker Role

Adrien Brody

Adrien Brody would like to play the Joker in a Justice League, according to Metro. Brody was considered to play the Joker in The Dark Knight, but ultimately was passed over in favor of Heath Ledger. At the Cannes Film Festival, Brody said that he'd still like an opportunity to play the character. 'I would do it if I feel I can contribute something valuable and that the role would be interesting to me because they're long journeys," Brody said. "To me, the villains are way fun! But they don't offer me those roles. If there is an opportunity to do something like that and play a comic book hero or villain, that's not something I'm fundamentally opposed to.' There has been no word yet on whether or not the Joker will appear in Justice League or Batman vs. Superman as of yet, but recasting the role after Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight would certainly be challenging. The Joker is expected to appear, soon or later, in the Batman prequel televisions series, Gotham. Batman vs. Superman comes to theaters May 6, 2016.
