Assassin's Creed Movie Starring Michael Fassbender Wraps Filming

That's a wrap! Principal photography on the Assassin's Creed live-action film has been completed.

The film is based onUbisoft's popular video game series and produced by New Regency, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, DMC Films and Kennedy/Marshall, with 20th Century Fox distributing. Justin Kurzel (Snowtown, Macbeth) is directing and Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs, X-Men: Apocalypse) stars in it. It went into pre-production in February of last year, but the cameras didn't start rolling until the very end of August. After four months and 15 days, the film now heads off to post-production to allow the digital artists to give it that spit-shine finish.

"It is my honor to announce that Assassin's Creed movie last shot was taken minutes ago! Congratulations guys!!!" Azaïzia Aymar, Assassin's Creed's Head of Content, tweeted on Friday. Check out his photo below.

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day. Assassin's Creed stars Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past, 12 Years a Slave) and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, La Vie en Rose).
