Avengers Comes to Redbox Instant By Verizon, And They're Giving Stuff Away

This past weekend, we brought you the news that Netflix had alerted its subscribers it had last year's biggest hit, Marvel's The Avengers, on its instant streaming service. Apparently they were pretty happy about it, sharing the news around like that. You know who's even more excited? Redbox Instant by Verizon, who are hosting giveaways all week long on their Facebook page to celebrate the fact that they got the movie two days ago, too. "We're celebrating the arrival of the S.H.I.E.L.D. super heroes by giving tons of goodies to our fans," a rep for Redbox Instant told us. "We have Xbox 360s, tablets, video games, t-shirts, water bottles, back packs and more to give away on Facebook starting later this week." And they'll be doing a prize-pack giveaway with ComicBook.com later in the week, as well. Check back for that. The service offers both a streaming service and physical rentals at Redbox kiosks, which often carry movies before they're available for rental on streaming subscription services like Netflix and Amazon Prime (although about the same time they appear as individual rentals on Amazon's pay-per-view video rental service).
