The Dark Knight Returns Part 2

Warner Premiere and Warner Brothers Animation have released the first official clip from the forthcoming home video release Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2, which will premiere in New York and Los Angeles at the end of the month. The clip, titled "Find the Nerve," features Batman facing off against a large contingent of Gotham City police and their leader, new Commissioner Ellen Yindel. The movie will be available on DVD, Blu-ray Combo Pack and digital download on January 29. It stars Peter Weller as Batman, Ariel Winter as Robin and Michael Emerson as The Joker. Based on the legendary graphic novel by Sin City writer/artist Frank Miller, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 is the latest in a series of DC Universe animated feature films, many of which have been based on particular stories from the comic book source material. Other releases have included All-Star Superman, Batman Year One, Justice League: The New Frontier and Green Lantern: First Flight. Confirmed upcoming releases include Superman: Unbound, which will adapt the Geoff Johns-written Brainiac storyline from a few years ago and star Molly Quinn as Supergirl; and Justice League: Flashpoint, which will adapt the Johns/Andy Kubert miniseries by the same name which kickstarted DC's massive New 52 relaunch. The line was overseen by current DC Entertainment chief Diane Nelson before she was promoted. According to Wikipedia, producer Bruce Timm has stated that he would like to do Aquaman and Green Arrow animated movies, and DC Entertainment co-publisher Dan DiDio has expressed interest in seeing Johns's popular 2007-2008 Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps War storyline adapted.
