On Wednesday, Deadpool opened in seven international markets and has already pulled in $12 million.

In just one day, 20th Century Fox's R-rated superhero film is making waves at the overseas box office. The studio had its biggest opening day ever in Taiwan with $1.4 million. Over in Australia, Deadpool "commanded 75 percent of the market" with $2.1 million.

The $3.4 million and $1.8 million it earned in the U.K. and France, respectively, is topping what X-Men: Days of Future Past did in 2014. THR reports, "And for Imax theaters in the British isles, it was the second highest Wednesday opening behind Spectre."

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool hits theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
