With nearly $100 million in the bank this week at the U.S. box office and even more overseas, plus a sequel already in the works, it seems like everybody loves Godzilla. Well, except for the people who actually live in the universe where his stories are told and he's stomping around breaking everything in sight. They're probably pretty annoyed for the most part. To that end, the folks at Nerdist have created a pair of new videos starring Thomas Lennon of RENO 911! as Jorge Rivers: Godzilla Lawyer. Because Godzilla is a rich and famous movie star, the first ad says, he deserves to pay. "Has Godzilla hurt your house? Your car? Your feelings? Intrepid lawyer Jorge Rivers is on your side and will stop at nothing until he achieves Justice (aka money)." The second video, of course, shows the character's mercenary side: he's willing to represent the monsters, too, if the price is right. "Growing up in Chicago, I owe a debt to the Son of Svengoolie for introducing me to classic films like the original Godzilla," said Lennon. "Or he owes me. We're still arbitrating this."
