It's with a heavy heart we share the news of Doris Roberts' passing. She was 90 years old.
Roberts is best known for her role as the meddling mother next door, Marie Barone, on Everybody Loves Raymond. The actress started the part in 1995 and would appear in 210 episodes. She would win Emmy awards for the part in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2005.
Prior to Raymod, Roberts won an Emmy award for her work on St. Elsewhere in 1983.
Her other memorable roles were also very motherly. She played Donna Pescow's mother in 1979 and 1980 on ABC's Angie and joined NBC's 1983 series Remington Steele as Mildred Krebs, where should would stay until 1987.
Rest in peace, Doris Roberts. Thanks for the laughs and memories.
