In a broad-reaching Q&A over at the 2000 AD message boards, Dredd screenwriter Alex Garland described his dream film trilogy--which he describes as not guaranteed to happen, with sequels not even necessarily likely to involve him. He's discussed that trilogy before, but brought something new to the discussion this time. "I actually think that maybe the best way forward for Dredd is television," Garland told fans. "American TV has completely rewritten the rule book where filmed drama is concerned.  Game Of Thrones/The Wire/Breaking Bad... An equivalent version of Dredd would be f---ing great.  Imagine the epics...". Imagine indeed! Could you see Judge Dredd taking his act to the small screen? Certainly the effects budget might be a constraint, but once you got all the sets built, it wouldn't be all that much different from any other action series. Perhaps this could be part of the Lionsgate initiative that aims to bring RED and The Expendables to television!
