While the official statement released by Marvel states that Marvel and director Edgar Wright parted ways amicable, Wright tweeted a photo earlier today that seems to suggest he is sad about no longer being attached to Ant-Man. On Saturday, Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon tweeted a photo of himself holding up a Cornetto ice cream bar, which many have interpreted as a show of solidarity with Wright. Wright retweeted Whedon's image, and today Wright tweeted a Cornetto image of his own. Wright tweeted a photo of a sad-faced Buster Keaton holding a Cornetto ice cream bar. Wright labeled the image as a selfie, suggesting that the image represents himself. In addition to conveying his sadness, there is another likely reason that Wright chose to tweet an image of Buster Keaton. After a brilliant career in silent films, Keaton's career declined after he lost his artistic independence in a strict contract with MGM. An old rumor suggested that Keaton's MGM contract even had a no-smiling policy, but this rumor is apparently false.
