20th Century's Fox's go-to producer/screenwriter Simon Kinberg took part in an extensive interview with Collider -- providing update on a slew of comic book-based projects the studio has in the works for the big and small screens. Today, they released a portion of the interview covering Hugh Jackman third and final Wolverine solo film, which Kinberg hopes will have a "mythic quality" to it.

Jackman has been adamant about making sure the script is in pristine shape before filming begins. As he wants his final Wolverine film to be the very best one. Go out on top. Leave them wanting more. Is the script done and when will it shoot?

"We're pretty close to a script that everyone's excited about, and I don't know when the start date is, but we won't start until it's ready to shoot," Kinberg explained. "What Hugh said to you is the attitude we all have—myself, Lauren Shuler Donner, the studio, [director] James Mangold, Hutch Parker—all of us, feel like this is six or seven or eight (depending on how you count) movies in the making, and there are few characters in the history of cinema who have cast as big a shadow as Wolverine, so to tell the final chapter of that story, it has to be the best, and it has to have a mythic quality to it. So we have to get it right, and I think we will, and my experience working with Jim Mangold, I've been extraordinarily impressed with him. He's just a really great storyteller; he's incredible with character. Really diligent, just a special talent. I have very high hopes for that movie."

Jackman has also teased that he has had a story in mind from the get-go, but is that story idea part of the current script? "Yeah, it is," Kinberg replied.

Fox's third Wolverine solo film starring Hugh Jackman is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 3, 2017.
