The Deadpool movie is coming. Finally.
While an R-rating was the first step towards giving fans the Deadpool movie they want and deserve, there are a few other things we want to see come February 12.
Whether or not the contents of this list will be included in Fox's first step at reinventing the character they betrayed in X-Men Origins is very much unknown but it seems clear that this movie will satisfy comic book fans and other audiences, alike.
Let's take a look at five things we hope to see in Deadpool.
Chimichangas
Surely, we'll see Deadpool and his unquestionable love for chimichangas realized in this movie. That doesn't mean it doesn't make a list of things we want to see!
The first hint of chimichanga loving came in the IMAX teaser for Deadpool, in which he declares, "Bigger is better." Let's see some chimichangas.

We know we're getting call-outs to Ryan Reynolds' role as Green Lantern but the more referencing (and making fun of) super hero movies or other pop culture icons, the merrier.
I'd particularly like to see a reference to the X-Men Universe all but resetting itself following Days of Future Past. Jokes naming the Avengers and how legalities won't allow Deadpool to share the screen with them would be fun, too, but those same legalities probably won't allow them.
You know what Fox could get away with? Making fun of their previous effort of introducing Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Deadpool's comedic regeneration is a must for his self-titled film.
We've seen a touch of Deadpool's regenerating in the trailer, when he gets shot and the camera looks directly through a bullet hole on his body, but we want to see Deadpool get totally obliterated and still be a smart-ass about it.
prevnextWhat Fourth Wall?
The San Diego Comic Con trailer featured a lot more fourth-wall breaking dialogue than the publicly released trailer for Deadpool. That being said, we hope the movie follows the SDCC trailer's format and shatters that wall to bits.
Comic fans know that Rob Liefeld's baby likes to talk to the readers. It is part of what makes Deadpool both unique and hilarious.
Deadpool talking to the audience, fully aware he's in a movie, and the other characters completely oblivious to who Wade Wilson is chatting with can make for some great humorous moments.

Wolverine's status in the X-Men movie universe is currently unknown. He was taken captive following his near death in Days of Future Past and we don't know whether or not he'll be appearing in Apocalypse.
While Wolverine's reappearance in the X-universe coming in Deadpool seems unlikely, that doesn't mean we don't want to see it one way or another. We can't even be sure exactly what time frame Deadpool is taking place in just yet. Perhaps it is prior to the events of Days of Future Past and we'll get to see a bit of interaction between the two.
As much as we all want to see Cable banter back and forth for our favorite katana wielding mercenary, it seems like too much of wishful thinking to demand him appearing in Deadpool's debut. Nevertheless, it would be an epically pleasant surprise.
