Guardians Of The Galaxy Second Trailer Breakdown

Earlier today, Marvel Studios released the second trailer for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film. There's a lot of new material in this trailer, so we decided to break it down frame by frame so fans can take it all in. Then they can get back to watching the trailer on repeat for the rest of the day. We don't judge.

The trailer begins with another look at the major scene from the first trailer, with Star-Lord running into Korath. We do get a nice look at how the technology of Star-Lord's Helmet works.

Here we have a glorious shot of Star-Lord in full gear making an escape from Korath the Pursuer, who will presumably pursue.

Something we didn't see in the first trailer was Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser. He is sitting with his massive hammer across his legs.

And another nice frontal shot.

This looks like Ronan's hand, but what is he grabbing? Could it be one of the Infinity Stones?

More Ronan, at the center of what looks like some sort of ritual.

Here's a look at Glenn Close as Nova Prime. You can see a Nova Corps member in full universe over her right shoulder.

Our first taste of Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon.

A shot of Knowhere, a port city for intergalactic travelers located on the floating severed head of a Celestial. Knowhere is located near the Rip, the extreme end of spacetime.

Groot chokeslams some poor henchman.

And even closer look at Pace as Ronan, firing his hammer with an energy blasts that sends the Guardians flying. Is that his hammers natural power, or is it something he just gained from that purple light – Infinity Stone or otherwise – that we saw earlier on?

Drax with his trademark knives.

Are those space fairies? Do they live in Groot?

Space battle, coming in.

Groot giving a little girl a flower. How nice.

Nebula comes face to face with Gamora. These two have a past.

That's an impressive gun you've got their Star-Lord.

Rocket Raccoon going all out in a space battle.

Even Drax can't stand up to Ronan's power, apparently.

Our one shot of Benicio Del Toro as the eccentric Collector.

Star-Lord and Gamora seem to be getting to know each other pretty well. Notice that Gamora is listening to Star-Lord's Walkman.

Star-Lord's appropriately titled "Awesome Mix."

Groot checking out the cassette player.

Peter Quill left Earth in the 80s, so naturally he has adorned his cassette player with stickers, a troll doll, and a picture of Alf.

Groot flexing his branches.

Rocket grabbing on his nether regions.

Another nice shot of the Nova Corps in full gear.

The full team gathered and ready to go into action. Guardians of the Galaxy, starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista, featuring the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, and directed by James Gunn, comes to theaters August 1.
