According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Marcus Nispel, who most recently helped the Conan the Barbarian reboot starring Jason Momoa, has landed the long-in-development adaptation of writer Tim Seeley's creator-owned comic Hack/Slash. The comic centers around Cassie Hack, who after being the lone survivor of a serial killer's murder spree takes a little cue from Dexter Morgan and becomes a serial killer herself, with other serial killers as her targets of choice. She's run up against a number of nightmarish killers in the vein of traditional horror movie slashers in her time, and has always come out on top. MTV's Splash Page names Allison Scagliotti of Warehouse 13 fame as the odds-on favorite to play the role of Cassie, based only on the strength of a fan campaign to land her for the job. In addition to Conan, Nispel is known for directing the recent remakes of Friday the 13th and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
