Happy Birthday! J.K. Simmons Turns 61 Today

Happy birthday, J.K. Simmons! The actor is celebrating his 61st birthday today.

Simmons is well known to the Comicbook.com community for his role as J. Jonah Jameson, editor in chief at the Daily Bugle, in the original Tobey Maguire Spider-Man franchise. In fact, he is so beloved in the part that fans have been crying out to have him return to the new Spider-Man era with Tom Holland.

In 2014, Simmons earned himself an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in Whiplash, where he starred as the intense musician teacher opposite Fantastic Four's Miles Teller. His other notable roles include Thank You for Smoking, The Jackal, and Juno.

Prior ti his acting fame, Simmons attended the University of Montana. His acting debut came in the 1986 television film, Popeye Doyle.
