Juliette Lewis Cast In Jem And the Holograms

Juliette Lewis

Oscar-nominated actress Juliette Lewis is joining the cast of the live-action Jem and the Holograms movie, according to Deadline. Lewis seems like an appropriate addition to the cast of the musically-charged film given her forays into music, first as lead singer of Juliette and the Licks and then as a solo act. Lewis was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in last year's August: Osange County and is currently starring on the ABC series Secrets and Lies. She will have a supporting role in Jem in the Holograms, but no further details were given. Jem and the Holograms is based on the 1980s Hasbro cartoon series about Jerrica Benton, a young girl who uses the holographic computer called Synergy to transform herself into Jem, the lead singer of the Holograms. The film will present Jem as an internet music star who finds herself on an adventure in Los Angeles. Jem in the Holograms recently cast the band, with Audrey Peeples set to play Jem, Stefanie Scott as Kimber, Aurora Perrineau as Shana, Hayley Kiyoko as Aja, and Ryan Guzman as Rio. Jon M. Chu will direct.
