C. Thomas Howell, the character actor who has appeared in dozens of films from E.T. to The Amazing Spider-Man, has joined the cast of Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox as the Reverse Flash, the villain whose murder of The Flash's mother kicks the entire plot into gear. The image at right, tweeted earlier today by Warner Animation's Gary Miereanu, revealed Howell as the villain, along with Jay Oliva (who directed Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2) as the director. "Great Friday morning recording 'villainous'@CThomasHowell for #JLFlashpointParadox with@JayOliva1 @JTuckerAnimator," Miereanu said. And lest anyone be caught up in that "twist" ending to Flashpoint and suspect that just being called "villainous"  isn't enough to set his casting as Reverse Flash, Howell himself tweeted, "Rough morning... Banging on The Justice League! (Someone has to do it)"--which wouldn't really fit the story's "other" villain... Added Miereanu, "Rookie in the booth, seasoned pro behind the microphone.@cthomashowell is devastatingly great as Thawne/Professor Zoom."
