is a movie that proved very divisive among comic book fans. Some fans loved director Zack Snyder's bold new take on Superman, while other fans were put off that the film had a far different style than the 1978 Superman the Movie. Man of Steel is the rare movie that some considered one of the best movies of the year and others considered one of the worst movies of the year. Warner Bros. is hoping that Academy voters fall into the first category of people who loved the film. Warner Bros. has launched a "For Your Consideration" page, pushing the Man of Steel for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Film Editing, Best Original Score, Best Visual Effects, Best Costume Design, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Warner Bros. also lists actors Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, and Russell Crowe for consideration for individual awards. In addition to Man Of Steel, Warner Bros. is also pushing 42, Gravity, Her, Pacific Rim, Prisoners, The Great Gatsby, and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug for various awards.
