In an interview with Cineplex magazine, Man of Steel star Henry Cavill discussed the pressures and pleasures of playing the Last Son of Krypton in director Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman reboot. "What I can say is that it's a modernization of the character and a very realistic view of one, obviously, very fantastic individual," he said of playing Superman in the film. "It's an unreal situation, but it's approached from a very practical viewpoint. We wanted to make the character easier to identify with." He also noted that he was one of the actors considered to take the role when Bryan Singer tried it with Superman Returns a few years back, he's not actually the kind of actor who necessarily seeks out those big, iconic roles. "I just want to tell good stories. That's the plan," said Cavill, although "I would love the opportunity to play Bond!"
