When Martin Freeman enters the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War, it looks like he might be a jolly-good pain in Captain America's arse.

The latest online rumors are suggesting that Freeman will play the Prime Minister of England, who will push for a global superhero registration act. Apparently, Civil War will open with a mission, where Cap's New Avengers team will have a run-in with the British military. This interaction will put superhuman affairs on the Prime Minister's radar, where he'll mount pressure for superhuman registration and ultimately be the bill's face.

However, the same rumors from Latino Review also hint that Freeman's character was already hinted at in Avengers: Age of Ultron. When Klaw (Andy Serkis) is talking on the phone with a mystery person on the other end, his drops this bit of dialogue:

"Now, Minister, where were we?"

Going into speculation territory, we could infer that Freeman's Prime Minister character is looking to get his hands on some Vibranium, which would help the British defend themselves against the mounting superpowered community.

But what do you think of this rumor? Would you like to see Freeman wave the Union Jack? Let us know in the comments below.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
