Eleven physicists agreed that the destruction of the second Death Star near the forest moon of Endor in Return of the Jedi would likely have created a "holocaust" for those adorable Ewoks.

In an article assembled by Tech Insider, there's plenty of talk about what a terrible idea the attack on the Death Star would be from the Endorian point of view...but one scientist went above and beyond, actually writing a whole paper that starts with "The Ewoks are all dead."

You can check it out below.

Endor Holocaust Question

"[M]ore or less what happens after the destruction is that the entire mass of the Death Star simply falls onto the location of the shield generator," said Purdue University planetary scientist Dave Minton.

"The aftermath of this impact would be to obliterate everything on the surface," he added. "No Ewok could withstand an impact of that magnitude....It is likely that the atmosphere would be so heated up ... that every body of water on the entire world would be flash heated to steam, and every forest would ignite into a global firestorm."

Ouch. We didn't catch that part in the animated series!
