Move over Batman and Iron Man, James Bond has just joined you in the 2012 billion dollar movie club. With only a day to spare, Sony has announced that Skyfall has grossed over one billion dollars in 2012 at the worldwide box office. The Avengers is still the top grossing movie worldwide of 2012 with $1.51 billion, and The Dark Knight Rises is still the second highest grossing movie of 2012 worldwide with $1.08 billion. With just a hair over $1 billion, Skyfall should finish in third place at the worldwide box office for the year 2012. Skyfall is just the fourteenth film in history to cross the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office. Skyfall is also the first Sony Pictures film to ever accomplish the feat. Skyfall doesn't open in China until January 21, where it should add to its already impressive worldwide total. Ultimately, the film has a good shot at breaking into the top ten grossing films worldwide.
