After Sony announced they were rebooting Spider-Man again and allowing him to be a part of the Marvel Studios' cinematic universe, some fans were hoping the studios would choose Miles Morales to be the next big screen Spidey, not Peter Parker.

The reasoning? Since Miles is a half-black, half-Hispanic American teenager, his character would have provided some much needed diversity to the current stable of cinematic superheroes. Plus, Miles's stories are an untapped well waiting to be explored. We already had five films based on Parker's tales, and yes, Sony never quite got his story right, but it'll be a bit of chore convincing moviegoers to see another Parker reboot that rehashes the Harry, Norman, MJ and Gwen storylines.

As we all know, Marvel and Sony went with Peter Parker, cast Tom Holland in the role, and revealed his costume several days ago in the latest Captain America: Civil War trailer. But now we can see what could have been...

3D artist and game developer, Jamie D., utilized his artistic talent to give Tom Holland's Spider-Man costume a Mile Morales-makeover. Say goodbye to Peter Parker's traditional blue-and-red color scheme with black spider emblem, and hello to Morales's predominantly black outfit with red webbing and a red spider logo.

In Captain America: Civil War, governments around the world hold Earth's Mightiest Heroes accountable for their actions, despite the amount of lives they've saved. Heroes divide as Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) butt heads, and fists, while fighting for what they believe in! Catch a glimpse of the action in front of and behind the camera above.

Captain America: Civil War will arrive in theaters on May 6, 2016.
