Star Wars Episode VII Looking For Forty-Something Military Man

Lucasfilm has been conducting open casting calls form Star Wars Episode VII. Two of the roles that they are seeking are for younger actors. One role is described as a young woman in the 17 to 18 year old range named Rachel. Rachel is said to have been "quite young when she lost her parents. With no other family, she was forced to make her way alone in a tough, dangerous town." The second role is describes as a young man in the 19 to 23 year old range. Thomas is said to have grown up without a father figure and without a strong sense of himself. "Despite this, he is smart, capable and shows courage when it is needed. He can appreciate the absurdities in life and understands you can't take life too seriously." Both these roles have been confirmed by Lucasfilm, but The Hollywood Reporter is also reporting on a new role that has not been confirmed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lucasfilm is now also looking for "a 40-something military man a la Matt Damon in Elysium." Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on December 18, 2015.
