After theaters in the UK were told that they could not do midnight screenings on July 20, because the first permitted shows were going to be midnight shows in the United States on the same date, many wondered if there would be any advance screenings of The Dark Knight Rises. It turns out that there will indeed be advance screenings for The Dark Knight Rises. There is The Dark Knight Rises red carpet world premiere, which we recently reported will take place on Monday, July 16, 2012 in New York City. Of course, good luck getting into that one. But there will also be other advance screenings, which fans will likely have a little bit better shot at. The Dark Knight Rises will hold advance screenings in twenty-one cities on Thursday, July 19, 2012. The advance screening cities are New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Baltimore/Washington DC, Dallas, Cincinnati/Dayton, Charlotte, Raleigh/Greensboro, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Birmingham/Montgomery, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Detroit, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Boston, Phoenix, Denver, Seattle, St. Louis, and Miami. Right now, the only chance to get in on these advance screenings appears to be through a sweepstakes being held by Mountain Dew.
