Bane The Dark Knight Rises

Say what? The Dark Knight Rises doesn't officially open until July 20, 2012, but you can already buy tickets to the first IMAX showings on Fandango. Why would you want to buy movie tickets for a movie that doesn't open for more than another six months? Because it's a Batman movie, and not just any Batman movie, but Christopher Nolan's last Batman movie. Slashfilm noticed that tickets were already on sale on Fandango for midnight showings at three different AMC IMAX theaters. The AMC theaters already selling The Dark Knight Rises tickets are AMC Loews Metreon 16 in San Francisco, CA; AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 in New York, NY; and AMC CityWalk Stadium 19 in Los Angeles, CA. The date of the show is actually listed as Thursday, July 19, 2012, but the time is 12:01 AM, and the description clarifies that it is for a Thursday night/Friday morning show. Right now, it's only AMC IMAX theaters selling Dark Knight Rises tickets, but I would not be surprised if other theaters soon follow suit. Starting ticket sales so early should also play to Warner Bros. benefit, as it will generate more press coverage for the Dark Knight Rises and help the movie to set records on Fandango.
