Matt Damon has reportedly been cast in Thor: Love and Thunder. The Daily Mail talked to the beloved actor about entering quarantine protocols down in Australia while the movie is filming. Many of the other players for Taika Waititi's latest movie are already down there. People were already over the moon about the film casting Christian Bale as the villain for the project. So, it's unclear what role Damon will be playing (maybe the same small cameo from the previous entry?), but that won't stop fans from being excited for whatever comes next. Thor: Ragnarok was heralded as one of the best efforts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, whatever came next was going to be a huge deal for fans of all stripes. That all rings true before even getting into the idea of all this star power trading barbs on-screen. Phase 4 is already off to a good start with WandaVision, and it looks like Waititi is cooking up something very good down in the outback.

In comments to The Daily Mail, Damon said, "I'm so excited that my family and I will be able to call Australia home for the next few months. Australian film crews are world-renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with so the 14 days of quarantine will be well worth it."

Back when Ragnarok dropped, The Martian star told Collider that he was absolutely up for the cameo last time. It took some fun joking around from both the director and series star Chris Hemsworth. People seemed to really get a kick out of seeing such a random cameo. But, that's kind of become the Damon signature in these superhero movies that his friends end up headlining.

"Chris [Hemsworth] just called me up, and Taika called me up, and I'm friends with those guys. They pitched me the idea and I just thought it was hysterical, the idea of basically an intergalactic community theater actor kind of living out Tom Hiddleston's character's fantasy," Damon explained. "I just thought it was just a great, funny bit, and very easy to do. Those guys were a lot of fun, and Taika runs a really fun set. It was a light lift for me."
