When Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice had the biggest worldwide opening for any comic book movie in history despite receiving overwhelmingly poor reviews, you can understand why Warner Bros. believes there is a disconnect between the critics and moviegoers.
"There is no question this is an extraordinary achievement," said Warners domestic distribution chief Jeff Goldstein (via THR). "Clearly, audiences have embraced it and we are already seeing repeat business. It's just fun. Often, there's a disconnect between critics and audiences."
Pulling in $424 million at the worldwide box office is amazing; however, most people expected a film featuring Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman to come out of the gates strong. The true test for Zack Snyder's latest superhero film will be how much of a drop it experiences in its second and third weeks.
Additionally, audiences weren't all that enamored with it, either. They gave it a 'B' CinemaScore, on par with what Green Lantern (2011) and Catwoman (2004) received. So...
