Will Smith Is Considering Running For President

Move over, Donald Trump. There's a new celebrity who might just be President one day and he probably has more votes than you by default.

Will Smith showed interest in possibly running for Office one day in a recent interview in promotion of his new film, Concussion. "If people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff they've been saying on the news lately about walls and Muslims, they're going to force me into the political arena," Smith told CBS in an interview which will air on Sunday Morning.

He's not talking about a mayoral or governor's position, either. The actor who will soon be portraying Deadshot in the DC Extended Universe has his sights set on President. "I mean, I gotta be the President. Come on!" Smith says, concluding, "What else would I run for?"

Whether or not Smith was being serious or joking is to be decided, as his tone and demeanor can't be depicted out of context, but he did go on to explain how he tells his kids to aim as high as the possibly can, and then higher. ""I tell my kids, 'Be as unrealistic as possible, and then figure out how to make it real," he said. "The best things that have ever happened, ever, were unrealistic before they happened. So for me, I think being the biggest movie star in the world as a goal actually was too small!"

Smith says he realized he had reached his goal four years ago but found himself wondering, "What else am I going to do." That something might just be attempting to find a home in the Oval Office, as Smith has realized, "There was no way [he] was put here just to be a movie star."

I'm just saying, if the 2020 election is Kanye West or Will Smith, my vote is with the man who saved the country once already ... in Independence Day.

Concussion hits theaters December 25.
