WolverineX-Men: Days of Future Past

arrives in theaters today and has been incredibly well received by fans and critics alike. By the end of the film it becomes clear that Days of Future Past opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for the X-Men film franchise. Hugh Jackman, the star actor and has played Wolverine in every film in the franchise so far, spoke to MTV about how the film's ending made him feel and what it could mean going forward. "I got goosebumps at the end of this movie," Jackman said. "This is a fresh beginning. In a way, you can reimagine everything that's been done. To see that moment at the end — many moments, about five or six moments at the end — it gave me goosebumps. It's exciting. "I'm loving playing Wolverine now more than ever." Spoilers ahead. The film clears the board on much of the franchise's continuity issues, explicitly negating much of Wolverine's origin that we saw in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and undoing the events of X-Men: The Last Stand and even some of what came before, but without simply saying that those films "don't count." It opens up the post-First Class films to be whatever they want to be without making the original films feel apocryphal. X-Men: Days of Future Past is currently in theaters.
