The Collider interview with superproducer Simon Kinberg is the gift that keeps on giving, today revealing some information about the upcoming Legion and Hellfire TV series based on the X-Men characters and concepts. All he really said about Hellfire, based on the elite inner circle of the Hellfire Club, was that it's actively in development with "two amazing writing teams working together on it," and that it's shooting next year.

That's something it shares with Legion, which plans to shoot beginning of 2016 with FX for a 10-13 episode season, if the pilot gets picked up.

"What I'm seeing on Legion with Noah Hawley (writer) and FX is an intent to do something completely original in the genre, in some ways to sort of blow up the paradigm of comic book or superhero stories and almost do our Breaking Bad of superhero stories," Kinberg said of the show.

He said that he and Hawley had early conversations, including a phone call when he was in Moscow for the Days of Future Past premiere, that he meant to be about a ten minute call.

"I ended up sitting out there for three and a half hours, missing the dinner. Everybody had not only had the dinner but went home," he said, "and I just got off that call being like, 'it's midnight in Moscow but we have to make this show with this guy because he's so brilliant.'"
