A Good Day To Die Hard

While A Good Day To Die Hard seems like a sure bet to win Valentine's Day weekend, the critics are killing the movie in their reviews. In fact, the reviews seem to be some of the harshest ever written for any blockbuster movie franchise that we can recall. Of the twenty-five reviews from critics currently posted on Rotten Tomatoes, twenty-three of the critics classified A Good Day To Die Hard as rotten. In fact the film has an abysmally low freshness rating of only 8%. Only two critics have actually given the film a fresh rating. Here's a sampling of what some of the reviewers had to say. Todd McCarthy of The Hollywood Reporter wrote, "At 98 minutes, this is by far the shortest of the Die Hard films, the rest of which run more than two hours. But it ends not a moment too soon." Edward Douglas of ComingSoon.net wrote, "A good way to ruin the 'Die Hard' franchise. Terrible." We'll stop there, because most of the other reviews say essentially the same thing. How will the reviews affect the box office for A Good Day To Die Hard? Well, the film has a 98% want to see audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so it will likely have a good opening, regardless of what the critics say. However, if audiences wind up agreeing with the critics, then it will probably die hard at the box office in its second weekend.
