Adventure Time Movie in the Works

Hit Cartoon Network series Adventure Time is headed to the big screen, Deadline reports.

The series, one of the most popular on the network, has spawned a small merchandising empire and a tie-in comic book that's one of BOOM! Studios' best sellers.

Adventure Time follows centers on 12-year-old boy Finn and best friend, a dog named Jake, who fight to protect their beloved Land of Ooo and Princess Bubblegum from the Ice King.

Jon Berg and Cate Adams are overseeing the project for Warner Bros., who own Cartoon Network. The project will be produced by the winning combo of Chris McKay and Roy Lee. McKay is currently working on Lego Batman and Ninjago for the studio as well.
